Why Fish Lake Taneycomo?
It's hard to believe that the midwest would hold such an opportunity, but deep in the Ozarks hills runs a river that holds some of America's finest trout fishing. Lake Taneycomo is a 23 mile stretch of river that is seated just under Table Rock Dam. The Shepherd of the Hills fish hatchery provides Lake Taneycomo with trout year-round, making for great fishing anytime you're able to make it to Branson.
The Missouri state record brown trout was caught in Lake Taneycomo in 2019. The behemoth weighed in at 40 lbs, 6 ounces and was just shy of the world record. Many folks in the area believe a world record is lurking somewhere in Lake Taneycomo's cold, clear water!

Lake Taneycomo isn't only home to trout! The cold, flowing water also holds some monster largemouth! Depending on the time of year, you may even catch a white bass run or stumble upon a big paddlefish.
